Behaviour

I can help you with any behaviour shown by your dog that’s a problem, such as jumping up, pulling on the lead, stealing & barking. I specialise in teaching you how to use rewards in order to teach them what you want.

Based around your needs

You may want a dog who can settle down in a cafe, not bark at people passing the house, circling and begging at the dining table or act quietly when you need them to. I also team upwith Trainers who specialise in specific types of activity, such as 'Hoopers' or 'Scent Work' (teaching your dog to find hidden items by smell), any of which you might choose to do just for fun or even for competition.

Training both ends of the lead

My job is to help you to improve your own training skills when it comes to living with your dog. I can help you with your dog if they become anxious, frightened or frustrated, which often results in activities such as:

Chasing Traffic
Panicking when left alone
Worrying about noises
Causing damage to themselves or the home
Behaving aggressively towards people or other animals

I will create an achievable tailor-made plan for you to follow that teaches your dog an alternative, more positive way of behaving.

Who do I work with?

The Animal Behaviour and Training Council is the regulatory body that represents dog trainers like me. It sets and maintains the standards of knowledge and practical skills needed to be an animal trainer, training instructor or animal behaviour therapist, and it maintains the national registers of appropriately qualified animal trainers and animal behaviourists.

My passion for ex-racing greyhounds has led my research to various canine topics and I regularly attend workshops & seminars to bring the very best and up to date information to my clients.

Although I am a greyhound enthusiast my knowledge is based on the study of all the breeds. Whether you have a Primitive Breed, Working, Spitz, Sight Hound, Scent Hound, Terrier, Gundog, Companion or Cross Breed I feel you have to know quite a bit about them all, to truly understand dog.
